to Scripture Union Africa Region
Scripture Union Africa is one of the seven
regions of Scripture Union International.
We operate in 130 countries world-wide,
44 of which are in Africa. Our Aims are
to work with the churches to present the
Good News of Jesus Christ to children, youth
and families and to encourage people of
all ages to meet God daily through the Bible
and Prayers.
Our Vision
Children and youth following Jesus, filled
with hope and transforming the families
and nations of Africa.
Our Mission
Scripture Union in Africa is a Christian
Organisation that nurtures Children and
Youth holistically, strengthening family
life and helping people engage with God
through the Bible that they may follow Jesus
Christ and be instrumental in transforming
Africa.
Scripture Union Aims
Working with the churches, Scripture Union
aims:
To make God’s good news known to children,
young people and families and to encourage
people of all ages to meet God daily through
the Bible and prayer.
So that they may:
- Come to personal faith
in our Lord Jesus Christ
- Grow in Christian Maturity and
- Become both committed church members
and servants in a world in need.
Scripture Union pursues these aims
through a variety of ministries around the
world in obedience to our Lord Jesus Christ
and in reliance on the Holy Spirit.
Activities
Scripture Union activities include programmes
for systematic Bible reading, children’s
missions, family ministries, residential
holiday activities and camps, work in schools,
training activities, youth work, the publishing
and distribution of Christian literature
and audio-visuals.
